2. Are you a fiduciary?
Yes. As CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professionals, we are legally obligated and ethically required to act as fiduciaries. This means we must always act in your best interest, avoid conflicts of interest, and provide objective, client-first advice.
3. How do you get paid? What are your fees?
We are transparent about how we’re compensated:
- Assets Under Management (AUM): Most clients pay a fee based on the amount of assets we manage on their behalf. Our fees are structured so that we do better when the client does better.
- Financial Planning Fees: For clients who need a comprehensive financial plan or a planning-only engagement, we offer flat-fee financial planning services.
- Referrals: We don’t have to charge lots of other fees to cover big recruiting seminars and advertising - as our clients provide referrals of their friends and family so they too can receive our services.
4. What makes Cox Financial Group different?
- We focus on relationships, not transactions. Our advice is independent, transparent, and rooted in long-term planning rather than product sales or commissions.
- We are always focused on the client’s best interest.
- We have the training, credentials, and expertise to assist not just in portfolio management, but also in tax reduction strategies, comprehensive financial planning, and estate planning.
“Service beyond expectation” is our motto we strive toward throughout your financial journey.
5. Am I your ideal client?
We serve individuals, families, business owners, pre-retirees, retirees, and anyone seeking a personalized, goals-based financial roadmap.
We also specialize in Lockheed Martin retirement plans and are very well versed in Executive benefit packages and have deep experience helping clients maximize these benefits by coordinating the benefits with tax strategies (like NUA) and long-term planning of RSU/PSU/LTI.
6. Do you coordinate with CPAs, attorneys, or other professionals?
Yes. With your permission, we collaborate directly with your tax and legal professionals to ensure your financial, tax, and estate strategies work cohesively.
7. How often will we communicate?
- Communication is a two-way street. So, we are very responsive to emails, texts, and calls.
- We send out monthly newsletters, articles, podcasts, videos, emails, and other educational resources to equip our clients.
- We meet annually or bi-annually to review portfolios and have strategy discussions to make sure we understand your goals and that you are still on track.
“We believe an educated client is our best client.” – Ken Unger (strategic coach to advisors)
8. What information do I need for our first meeting?

- Other financial documents (you really can’t give us too much!)
9. Do you require a minimum investment?
Although we work best with clients who have over $500,000 in investable assets, we are relationship-focused, not asset-focused. We have developed strategies, staff, and systems to also help those on the road to larger portfolios - If you’re committed to building a financial plan, we are committed to helping you. Bottom line – no real minimum. We are here to serve you.
10. What types of accounts do you manage?
We manage a variety of accounts, including:
